Jan Branham Print and Collage Artist

Presently I am involved in creating a body of work that I call "ANSISTERS/MANSESTORS". I am mainly working using collage and print making techniques such as etching, linocut, woodblock, collagraph, as well as a mixing of media to satisfy my image curiousity.

The subject matter of my art is inspired by small snap shots that were taken in the 1920's, 30's, 40's, and 50's. Most of the snapshots were taken with a Kodak Brownie camera and are of relatives and close friends of my family (these pictures were stored unlabeled in a box by my mother that I discovered after her death). I have chosen interesting individuals in these small photos, drawn them in a much larger format and then have created my own printed and collaged images. Just a few of the individuals are known to me and names have been changed to protect the innocent.
